Many new moms feel overwhelmed for several weeks and months following the arrival of their baby. They may feel anxious, tired, guilty, or sad. New moms may also experience insomnia, social withdrawal, poor concentration, intrusive thoughts, and forgetfulness. Join us for HOPE Group, where your feelings and experiences can be dealt with in a safe atmosphere of recognition and peer support.
For our expecting mothers—we encourage you to join us if you have had a stressful recent life event or if you currently have (or have had in the past) depression, anxiety, or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
HOPE Group is open from pregnancy through the first year postpartum (or still breastfeeding) and held on Mondays. Group is led by maternal mental health professionals and a peer who has personally experienced a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder. Please contact 717-960-3409 or email maternalwellness@upmc.edu for information on how to join the virtual group.
