Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
In conjunction with PinnacleHealth, Community Life Team offers emergency medical services (EMS) to the residents of the City of Harrisburg.
Emergency Departments
We have two conveniently located emergency departments, one on the Harrisburg Campus and one on the Community Campus. Our emergency services teams at both locations are dedicated to providing outstanding care to all patients, using cutting-edge equipment.
Urgent Care
For conditions that don’t require a trip to the emergency department, Concentra Urgent Care is here to help. Concentra and PinnacleHealth have enjoyed a joint venture partnership since 1997, with two Concentra Urgent Care locations…one on the East Shore off Route 322 via the Penhar Dr. exit; the other on the West Shore off Route 15 in the Rossmoyne Business Park.
Whether you need stitches, an X-ray or a physician exam, Concentra offers fast, convenient care for an array of minor health problems. You don’t need an appointment to receive treatment at Concentra Urgent Care Centers.
For more information visit their webiste at www.concentraurgentcare.com.
For more than 30 years, Community Life Team has been serving the residents of the City of Harrisburg. Originally River Rescue, Community Life Team updated its name and expanded services as the needs of the community changed. Once staffed completely by volunteers, Community Life Team now employs a highly qualified, certified and well-trained staff of 40 paramedics and 50 EMTs. Each year, Community Life Team responds to more than 15,000 calls in our community, of which 8,600 are emergency 911 calls.
Become a Member
Each year, Community Life Team holds a membership drive for residents of the City of Harrisburg. With a membership, Community Life Team will accept your insurance carrier’s payment for medically necessary services and typically you will not be billed for the difference. Membership entitles you to unlimited emergency ambulance service (basic and advanced life support), 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Membership does NOT include medical wheelchair transport van and ambulance services for non-emergencies. Interested in becoming a member? Download our membership form now.
Make a Donation
Consider making a separate tax-deductible donation to Community Life Team. As a non-profit organization, the ambulance service depends on generous support to provide services and medical equipment. Donations help Community Life Team maintain and update the fleet of ambulances, squads and wheelchair vans. To make a donation, please call us at the phone number below or use our membership form on the right.

Our Emergency Departments: Community and Harrisburg Campuses
You can’t prepare for an emergency, and it certainly isn’t something you think about daily; however, PinnacleHealth’s Emergency Departments are prepared to care for you and your loved ones should a crisis occur. From the moment you dial 9-1-1 or enter the ER, our skilled medical technicians, doctors, nurses and staff already are at work to ensure you receive the best possible care.
Whether it’s code STEMI communication between the ambulance and hospital, allowing us to rapidly evaluate, prepare and treat heart attack patients (averaging a 63-minute door-to-balloon time) or comforting and treating a child who may have fallen off playground equipment, expect the kind of compassion and immediate attention you and your family expect and deserve during an emergency.
Every minute counts. Count on PinnacleHealth for your emergency needs.

Our New Emergency Department
In order to further meet the medical needs of our ever-growing community, PinnacleHealth is investing in a newly expanded Emergency Department at its Harrisburg Campus.
