Loss of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or neonatal death may cause feelings of grief, helplessness, shock and numbness. At PinnacleHealth, we understand that you are going through a difficult time. Our nurses and social workers will provide the individualized support and resources you need to work through your grief.
If you are grieving the loss of your baby, PinnacleHealth offers two support groups that may be able to help.
This is a group that provides support to families who are grieving their babies lost during pregnancy, at birth or shortly after birth. The group meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month. You are welcome to come no matter where you are in your grief process or how long it has been since your loss. You may choose to talk or just listen. Meetings typically include brief presentations and time for sharing. Two registered nurses who are perinatal bereavement counselors also attend the meetings.
This group provides support to families who have had pregnancy losses and are considering becoming pregnant again, are currently pregnant, or have recently given birth. Please contact Marianne Allen at (717) 782-5906 or Liz Shaeffer at (717) 231-8472 to schedule an appointment.
