Computerized Tomography (CT) Scan

CT scanning is useful to get a very detailed 3-D image of various parts of the body, such as the pelvis, blood vessels, lungs, brain, abdomen, bones and soft tissue.

At PinnacleHealth Imaging, we use the latest, safest computerized tomography (CT) technology to provide you with an accurate, timely diagnosis. We offer CT scans at 12 convenient locations throughout Central Pennsylvania, which means short drives for residents of Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, Hershey and other surrounding areas.

As part of our commitment to your health and safety, PinnacleHealth Imaging uses state-of-the-art technology—including CT scanners that are equipped with software that reduces your radiation exposure by up to 80 percent.

The software automatically adjusts the amount of radiation delivered based on the size of the body part being scanned to ensure that you receive the minimum effective dose. This technology also limits radiation exposure by reducing the time it takes to perform a CT scan.

As a leading imaging care provider, PinnacleHealth has invested in cutting-edge CT scanners, including:

  • Aquilion ONE™ dynamic volume CT. This advanced scanner provides 360-degree scans of organs—including images of movement and blood flow—in seconds, which reduces exam time, lowers the required dose of contrast solution and limits radiation exposure. PinnacleHealth Imaging has 3 Aquilion ONE, 640 slice CT scanners.
  • Aquilion Prime 80-slice and Aquilion 64-Slice CT. This scanner provides superior, high-resolution 3-D images and reduces scan time, which allows for increased diagnostic accuracy and lower radiation exposure.
  • GE Optima 660 128-slice CT. Provides lower radiation exposure and high resolution images for increased diagnostic accuracy.
