Children's Resource Center (CRC)
The PinnacleHealth Children’s Resource Center (CRC) is a child advocacy center dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care in a safe, child-friendly environment for children suspected of having been abused or neglected. Our goal is to reduce the trauma caused by abuse and help children and their families begin the healing process.
Services We Offer
The CRC is one of the first nationally accredited child advocacy centers in Pennsylvania. Since opening in 1994, the CRC has provided services to over 9,500 children suspected of having been physically or sexually abused or neglected, or who have witnessed violence in their home or community.
With the interests of the children at the forefront, we:
- Interview children in a non-leading, non-suggestive manner
- Provide medical exams to ensure a child's health and safety
- Connect children and families to mental health services
The primary CRC office is located in Dauphin County and serves children in Cumberland, Perry, Schuylkill, Mifflin, Juniata, Bedford and Blair Counties. In 2014, the CRC opened a satellite office in Lebanon County. This location is opened two days per week and offers services to children in the county who cannot otherwise travel to the CRC in Dauphin County.
If you have a concern that something inappropriate has happened to your child or a child that you know, please call our Childline at (800) 932-0313 to report your suspicion.
The CRC accepts referrals for child abuse evaluations from investigative agencies only. Referrals for second opinion medical exams can be made by primary care physicians or other medical providers.
If you are an MDIT (Multi-Disciplinary Investigative Team), use the electronic intake form to submit an appointment request. Please include your availability for an interview time as this helps us to expedite the scheduling process.
An interviewer should be in contact with you within 24 hours (or sooner) to schedule your appointment. If you have an emergency request, please follow up with a phone call to (717) 782-6800 to secure an immediate appointment time.
An interviewer will then make contact with the child’s parent and/or caregiver to explain the CRC appointment. Once the appointment has been confirmed with all parties, an email confirmation will be sent to the involved agencies.
