Disease Specific Measures

The quality of medical care is represented by the actual outcomes for a treatment or procedure. At PinnacleHealth, we ensure the best outcomes for our patients by managing the treatment of certain conditions that can become chronic, catastrophic, or complicate your recovery from another condition or procedure.

We focus on the management of:

  • Heart attack
  • Heart failure
  • Community-acquired pneumonia
  • Surgical infection
  • Diabetes
  • Stroke
  • Venous thromboembolism (VTE)

To understand how we are doing in this effort, we regularly evaluate our success rates by measuring our data for these conditions against the average for all reporting hospitals in the United States, collected from the Hospital Compare website. Hospital Compare is part of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Quality Initiative.
