Become a Student Volunteer
As a young person, finding spare time can be tough – you juggle school, a social life, a part-time job, and organized activities. However, many young people age 15 and older also find enjoyment in being a PinnacleHealth volunteer. As a student volunteer, you can make friends, brighten someone’s day, and explore possible careers.
Our student volunteer program is designed to introduce young people (students age 15 through college) to the activities of a healthcare institution based on their individual interests and skills. Student volunteers provide assistance throughout the health system primarily during (but not limited to) the summer.
Volunteers considering medical careers can learn about our healthcare system and get a personal look at the challenges of working in a high qualiity healthcare organization. Their service provides valuable experience and references for school and employment.
If you would like to join our volunteer team, you must do the following:
Complete a volunteer application – Applying is easy. Simply complete the form. When your form has been processed, you will receive instruction on how to sign up for an Information/Interview Session.
Sign up for an Information/Interview Session.
Obtain parental consent (for those under age 18)
Participate in an Information/Interview Session, where we will discuss volunteer opportunities that may interest you. A parent/guardian must be present for students under age 18, for the Information Session only.
Commit to at least 30 hours during the program period (June – August)
Criminal background checks - requirements discussed at time of interview
Health assessment - requirements discussed at time of interview
Two written references
Attend an orientation session (one full day or two half days in mid-June, dates change annually).
