Patient Tracking System
The department managers continually improve efficiencies and processes. Most recently, surgical Services has implemented a patient tracking system which has improved communication between the department, families, and physicians. With this technology, our staff can send messages to the surgical patient’s family giving those updates on patient’s condition and progression of the surgical procedure. The family is able to track their loved ones in the surgical waiting rooms, lobby area, and cafeteria at both campuses via Kiosks located in those areas.
At the Harrisburg campus, robotic surgery in Gynecological and Gyneoncological procedures, as well as Urological procedures has improved outcomes with less blood loss and shorter recoveries. This advanced technology allows for a more accurate diagnosis in cancer patients with minimal incision size and healing time.
Robotic cardiovascular hybrid procedure allows the cardiovascular patients to combine both open heart and cardiac stenting surgery into one visit to the operating room, while decreasing length of hospital stay and blood loss. These cases are performed in our new state-of-the-art vascular suite.
Advances in Orthopedic surgery have allowed for minimally invasive hip and knee procedures at the Harrisburg Campus. Our staff is highly skilled to assist the surgeons with these procedures. Within the next year, the Harrisburg Campus will introduce three more advanced laparoscopic suites to the mix.
