The purpose of the symposium is to improve collaboration among physicians, nurses, and respiratory therapists in the care of the patient with a pulmonary diagnosis. Each year, physicians, residents, medical students, nurses, respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals are invited to attend this event.
The objectives of the symposium are to:
- Define strategies to improve care of the mechanically ventilated patient.
- Identify evidence-based care modalities to prevent ventilator-associated pneumonia.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the latest technology in the care of the pulmonary patient.
