Volunteer Opportunities

Please consider the following areas where you can get involved:

Work with Patients

These are the volunteer opportunities where you have direct interaction with our patients and clinical staff members. Examples of ways you can get involved include assisting staff with patient needs, making deliveries to patients, answering call bells, transporting lab specimens, discharging patients in wheelchairs and stocking medical supplies.
 
Share your Talent

Do you have a talent that could put a smile on a patient’s face? Many of our volunteers act as clowns, play musical instruments, bring in pet therapy animals, or sing and tell stories to our patients to help brighten their day.

Assist in a Family Care Center or Physician Specialty Practice

If you enjoy a multitude of jobs, you may want to consider volunteering in one of our family care centers or physician specialty practices. Responsibilities can include helping check in patients at the front desk, entering patient data, helping prepare exam rooms, stocking medical supplies or retrieving patient prescription information.

Clerical and Office Support

Volunteer opportunities within this area include helping visitors and patients at information desks, assisting with filing, typing and data entry, special departmental projects, answering phones, and assembly of patient packets.

Pastoral Care

Some patients desire spiritual support or someone with whom to pray. Our pastoral care volunteers work closely with the hospital chaplain to provide patients with this type of comfort.

Gifts of the Heart

Some volunteers have a “gift” for creating homemade items that comfort our patients and families. Gifts of the Heart volunteers provide specialty gifts for patients, such as hand-knit baby caps, blankets for emergency room patients, cancer caps, and homemade comfort pillows. Donations are provided to PinnacleHealth patients at our hospitals, family care centers and physician specialty practices based upon need.
