PNC helped launch PinnacleHealth’s involvement in a national infant initiative to promote safe sleep practices in the Capital region. The new initiative will provide free GRACO Pack 'n Play® cribs and educational materials for families as part of a national Cribs for Kids® program.
PinnacleHealth Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) nurses identified a significant need for safe sleep education and practice within low-income families in Dauphin and Franklin counties. Most of these families cannot afford to purchase safe infant cribs.
“PinnacleHealth is very excited to be part of this life-saving initiative. PNC’s generous gift will enable us to provide cribs and educational materials to 100 families,” said Gina Pupo, Nurse Manager for PinnacleHealth’s Nurse-Family Partnership.
The Cribs for Kids program will provide cribs to patients and families within the health system as providers identify needs, which could include infants from the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the pediatric clinic, home visits from NFP and other areas. PNC’s gift will enable PinnacleHealth to reach people within the community with this need and increase the safety and health of infants.
