Both stated that Patty volunteered to come in on her weekend off to do a speech evaluation for one patient. Lori continues, "The weekend on-call therapist was tied up at Harrisburg Campus. When Patty arrived she saw three patients for evaluation! Because of Patty's care and concern for patients and her dedication to PinnacleHealth, a positive outcome was achieved. Patty deserves to be recognized for her service above and beyond."
Patty was hired 18 years ago as the first Speech Therapist at the Community General Osteopathic Hospital. She enjoys her work with acute care patients and the healthcare professionals that she sees on a daily basis.
In addition to her work at PinnacleHealth, Patty developed a pragmatic language program for Central Dauphin School District. In this part-time position, she helps students increase their social skills through language enhancement with a course she titled Executive Functions. By enlisting the aid of Bill Wilkeson, VP Ambulatory Care and Ancillary Services, Patty videotaped a day in the life of an executive. These video clips are used to demonstrate social and language skills in the workplace.
Outside of work, Patty enjoys sailing with her husband and daughter. She also shoots pistol and trap, and is a runner.
