Construction at Community General Osteopathic Hospital is now complete and includes:
Adding three stories above main hospital
3rd floor most likely dedicated orthopedic unit with 32 private rooms
4th floor – 32 private rooms for medical/surgical and house rehabilitation therapy gym
5th floor – shelled for future use
Upgrade to existing utilities
The newly constructed rooms are located on the third and fourth floors of Community General Osteopathic Hospital. Amenities featured including flat screen TVs, large bathrooms and pullout sofa beds for visitors. These rooms are for those recovering from orthopedic, spine, bariatric, cardiac and other procedures or operations. The 64 private rooms appeal to aging, more discerning patients who want more comfortable hospital accommodations.
The new floors and rooms also have features designed to improve the quality of care, including nursing "pods" which put nurses closer to their patients, a call bell system that sends targeted messages, and computer place at bedside to allow for better medical documentation and coordination of care.
