PinnacleHealth Women’s Cancer Center Increases Access in Franklin County

PinnacleHealth Women’s Cancer Center opened a new office in Chambersburg this week.  Jose Misas, MD, director of the gynecologic oncology Program, will start seeing patients see patients at 380 Floral Avenue, Chambersburg, every Monday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. 
“This new location offers existing and new patients the ease of follow-up and post-op appointments and colposcopy procedures, closer to home,” states Dr. Misas. “In addition, it provides us with a closer working relationship with OB/GYNs in the area.”
The PinnacleHealth Women’s Cancer Center Harrisburg office is located at 3901 North Front Street. Both offices promise to provide unique, comprehensive and compassionate care, including preventive, diagnostic, surgical, medical and chemotherapy needs of women with gynecologic cancer and other conditions of the female reproductive system.

Surgeons with the Women’s Cancer Center are part of the Pennsylvania Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery at PinnacleHealth, which is recognized as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG)TM by AAGL, an internationally recognized authority in minimally invasive gynecology.  
PinnacleHealth currently performs more than 2,000 minimally invasive gynecologic procedures annually. PinnacleHealth offers both laparoscopic and robotic procedures to fit the unique needs of each patient. Minimally invasive surgery helps to avoid complications like infection by using small incisions, and specially designed surgical instruments to complete the needed surgery with the least amount of pain, incisions, blood loss and recovery.
