PinnacleHealth has recently embarked on major renovations to Harrisburg Campus, adding more floors and expanding services for added privacy and patient care. The Alex Grass Medical Science Building project is complete, and parking and building access has been restored.
Our next project includes broadening our Cardiac Services. Three floors will be added along Front Street above the Emergency Department. We are excited to build the future of remarkable healthcare in the region. We acknowledge and apologize for some inconveniences along the way.
Starting Monday, December 3 pedestrian and traffic patterns along Front Street in Harrisburg will temporarily change. Please note that Harrisburg Hospital will not be accessible from Front Street beginning Monday, December 3rd.
The project is expected to be completed by June 3, 2013.
During this time, Front Street vehicle traffic will be re-routed via Mary Street to the Patient/Visitor Garage on Second Street. Mary Street will be accessible only from Front Street. It will not be accessible from Second Street.
Non-hospital pedestrian traffic will be re-routed north on Chestnut Street to Second Street. Patients and visitor pedestrian traffic will be re-routed north on Chestnut Street, via the colonnade to the main lobby of the hospital. All detours will be clearly marked.
Please note that under no circumstances is pedestrian traffic permitted to use the Emergency Department entrance as a convenient access to the hospital. The doors off the colonnade will be available for access into the main lobby of the building.
Thank you again for your understanding and support during this exciting time of growth. If there are any questions, please call the Construction Hotline at 782-5255.
