How often should I be taking my children to the doctor for check ups?

The frequency of doctors' visits depends on your children's age and health status. Within the first year of life, recommended checkups and vaccinations are very frequent.  If your children are healthy and between the ages of 2 and 6, you should take them for a checkup once a year. Between the ages of 6 and 20, healthy children should have a checkup at least every 2 years (many people still come once a year). The best person to tell you exactly how often your children should see a doctor is the doctor himself or herself because every child is different. Also, don't forget about vaccinations. Be sure to check with your family doctor to make sure your children are up to date with all of their vaccinations.
