Hello, I suffer from great anxiety about giving birth (although undiagnosed, I'm pretty sure I suffer from tocophobia). My hope is to be able to have a c-section, although I don't think my insurance covers elective c-sections.

Here are my questions:

1. Does Pinnacle allow for elective c-sections?
2. What constitutes as an "emergency c-section"?
3. Does mental health play a role in classifying a c-section as an emergency?
4. Does pinnacle offer c-sections while asleep?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Hello Mom2Be,
You are being very proactive by thinking about your delivery now. Unfortunately there are no black and white answers for these questions, as there are many different factors that can play a role. For the best answers, we recommend you discuss your fears and concerns with your obstetrician and from there you can best develop a plan.
We wish you the best of luck on your delivery and hope you have a wonderful experience at Harrisburg Hospital.
