beachbumm - sushi while pregnant? 8/14/2012 10:34:33 AM
My husband and I are currently trying to conceive, so I may be thinking too far ahead, but is it OK to eat sushi while pregnant? We love going out for sushi on the weekends, but I'd like to stop eating it now if it's bad to eat while pregnant.

Thanks in advance for any advice! =)

I asked my doc the same question when I was pregnant, and he said that the general rule in the U.S. is to stay away from any raw fish, as well as larger fish that contain high amounts of mercury. However, as I’m sure you know there are so many other types of sushi rolls that contain cooked fish so as long as you know it's fresh I'd recommend playing it safe and sticking with the cooked stuff….. baby comes first!!!
Best of luck to you :)
