It's best to start with foods that are easy for the baby to digest. I started my children on oatmeal or rice cereal with a bit of formula to make it soupy, and then gradually introduced pureed peaches, bananas, sweet potatoes, and carrots because they are all easily digested. From there, there are endless options! You just have to be careful to not make each meal sweet because then your baby will get used to the sweet taste and not want anything that isn't sweet.
Congrats on being a new mom!

After about 8 months you should start introducing meat and fish to your little girl, but in very small portions, like the size of a quarter when you introduce it the very first time. Also at this point, yogurt is a great food to feed her (assuming you don't suspect a lactose problem). My children loved the different flavors I gave them and it's very easy for that age group to eat it.

A piece of advice after you've introduced rice cereal, oatmeal, etc.... when you start introducing veggies and fruits, give your baby the less sweet veggies and fruits to begin with. I found out the hard way that if you start with the sweeter foods like squash, cooked carrots, or peaches.. it's harder to get your baby to go for less sweet veggies like peas.

One last tip- having had triplets, I can honestly tell you that each one of my babies was ready for solids at a different time so don't force it if your baby is rejecting the foods, just be patient :)
