Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET CT)

PET CT scan is an advanced diagnostic imaging procedure that can identify cancer and certain diseases of the heart and brain. PinnacleHealth now offers the addition of the new GE Discovery PET CT 600, offering patients the next evolution in PET CT scan.

What are PET/CT? What are they used for?

PET/CT can be a useful tool in evaluation, radiation therapy treatment planning, baseline staging of many cancers including; brain, cervical, colorectal, esophageal, head and neck, lung, lymphoma, and melanoma.

Our scanners deliver the highest sensitivity in the industry, allowing physicians to detect cancerous diseases in the early stages. New scanner technology allows us to complete faster patient exams resulting in significantly reduced radiation exposure to the patient.
