Our surgeons do more joint replacement surgeries than any other hospital in Pennsylvania, setting the standard for surgical excellence. We are experts in the latest technology for performing minimally invasive procedures, specializing in laparoscopic techniques and robotic capabilities.
Our top ranked surgical services team includes specially trained physicians, surgeons, nurses, therapists, and case managers.
In addition, our Nurse Care Coordinators work with each patient to discuss recommended treatment options, expedite appointments and follow-up, and act as a liaison between the patient’s primary care physician and the specialists on our joint replacement team. Your Nurse Care Coordinator will provide education, guidance, and answers to any of your questions beginning in the pre-op stage and continuing through to your discharge home.
Our surgeons specialize in:
Total Knee Replacement. Performed under general anesthesia, this procedure involves the removal of the damaged knee joint, followed by the insertion of an artificial joint which is attached to the thigh bone, shin, and knee cap. The new joint then relies on surrounding muscles and ligaments for function and support.
Total Hip Replacement. Performed under general anesthesia, this procedure is used to replace diseased or worn down parts of the ball and socket of the hip with an artificial joint, which is reattached to the surrounding muscles. Mobility and functionality is then gradually restored to the joint.
We specialize in the anterior approach to hip replacement. This technique spares the muscles and tissues around the hip socket, resulting in a faster and easier recovery for a majority of patients.
