You will be seen by a physician or nurse practitioner who exclusively sees infectious disease patients.
When you should see us
If you had an infection in the hospital and are referred by your doctor for follow-up care.
If you have symptoms likely to be caused by an infectious disease such as prolonged fever (a fever that lasts more than a week with no known cause), recurrent chills or weight loss.
If you believe you may have encountered Lyme disease or another tick-borne illness.
If you think or know you have hepatitis.
If you think or know you have HIV.
If you think or know you have any kind of sexually-transmitted disease.
What you can expect
You can call us yourself or your family doctor may refer you to us. It’s helpful if you bring any previous records with you. At your first visit, in addition to an examination, we may order blood tests and/or x-rays.
You will receive a diagnostic and treatment plan of care. Keep in mind, however, especially if you have an undiagnosed illness, it may take several visits to come to a conclusion.
