Lead and Healthy Homes Program
Chronic, low-level exposure to lead can cause many developmental, behavioral and learning disabilities. Lead is most harmful to children under age six because it is easily absorbed into their growing bodies.
PinnacleHealth's Lead and Healthy Program provides comprehensive lead poisoning prevention, testing and control services. Through a contract from the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the program serves 35 counties in Central and Northeastern Pennsylvania targeting low-income families and children in areas at high-risk for lead exposure.
Our program advances our message "Be lead safe" through the following initiatives:
Entertaining and educational programming
Free lead poisoning screenings
Free cleaning kits
