The da Vinci® Surgical System
The benefits of minimally invasive surgery are greatly enhanced through the use of the da Vinci® Surgical System. This system allows the use of micro-instruments which are connected to robotic arms, and are manipulated remotely to mimic hand movements. Motions are tracked on high-definition monitors, giving surgeons a clear, unobstructed view of each step in the process.
Because the tools used in da Vinci® robot-assisted surgeries are inserted through the tiniest of incisions, surgical procedures using the system cause minimal impact to the patient, allowing for a shorter hospital stay, quicker recovery, and return to normal activities sooner than with a traditional open surgery.
