Treatments and Services
Specialized Treatments
- Splint fabrication--Customized, dynamic and static fabricated splints are fitted and modified to increase range of motion, protect and improve use of the upper extremity after injury, surgery, deformity or amputation
- Customized exercises to increase strength, restore motion and improve functional use of the upper extremities
- Education and home exercise programs
- Fine and gross motor restoration and coordination
- Functional training (joint protection, energy conservation, work simplification)
- Modalities used to facilitate motion, minimize pain and edema, normalize sensitivity and assist with wound management
- Sensory re-education and desensitization
- Work conditioning, work simulation activities and upper extremity functional capacity evaluations

Working with your referring physician, our Hand and Upper Extremity Institute team develops an individualized treatment plan which can include:
- Diagnostic
- Medical
- Surgical
- Rehabilitative services
Following evaluation and/or surgery, patients are referred to the Comprehensive Occupational Rehabilitation Center for assistance in resuming normal activities.
