Moms Navigating through Life - Therapy Group

This group can help look at how to deal with role adjustments in relationships with work and within family and offer problem solving solutions to the demands of mothering at different stages birth through the terrible teens.
Moms Navigating through Life is a therapy group dealing with the transition into and through all stages of motherhood.

The birth of a baby will change the dynamics of your life and family. It also can trigger very powerful and a multitude of emotions from excitement and joy to fear and anxiety.

This group can help look at how to deal with role adjustments in relationships with work and within family and offer problem solving solutions to the demands of mothering at different stages birth through the terrible teens.

Topics will include:

  • Dealing with obsessive worry
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Motherhood’s affect on relationships
  • Identity, intimacy issues, body image
  • Career changes
  • Maternal emotions, mood changes, isolation, irritability, lack of energy and motivation
Ultimately, MOMS Navigating Through Life therapy can be seen as an essential gift in the process of self-care. One of the most recognized benefits of group therapy is the connection with others and the realization that you are not alone. This also allows individuals to practice social skills and alleviate feelings of isolation.

About the Presenter

Lesley Davis, licensed professional counselor (LPC), is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and received her master’s degree of professional studies in human relations from the New York Institute of Technology. She has held Addictions Certification in both Pennsylvania and Florida. Prior to joining the practice of PinnacleHealth Psychological Associates, she was the clinical program director for the Wellness Resource Center, a nationally recognized dual diagnosis treatment facility in Boca Raton, Florida.

Ms. Davis has a diverse background in the field of behavioral healthcare including substance abuse, specialized women and children's programs, and HIV/AIDS programming. Ms. Davis is familiar with all modalities of care including residential treatment, outpatient treatment, case management and day treatment. Currently Ms. Davis works with both children and adults, individuals, families and couples.

Her approach is centered on solution focused therapy. She is well versed in issues related to relationships, addictions, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life coaching, ADHD, smoking cessation, trauma, adjustment issues, gay and lesbian issues, stress management and parenting issues. Ms. Davis also currently runs both male and female adolescent groups for ages 13-17.

Thursdays, noon-1 p.m.
Children are welcome. Most insurances cover the cost of group therapy.

Fee: Each session is $45.
