Be a Better You

Keep nutrition, wellness, and prevention at the top of your mind so you can remain at the top of your health.

Wellness has three basic components: a balanced diet, regular exercise, and wise lifestyle choices. Incorporating all three into your daily routine can help you live a longer, healthier life. Adopting even one of them can improve your well-being.

How to Cut the Fat and Keep the Flavor

Prevention Guidelines

Find out which tests and immunizations are recommended by age group and gender. Use these guidelines when discussing a disease prevention plan with your health care provider.

Health Tip

Encourage Your Kids to Choose Healthy Snacks
Kids may crave chips and sweet treats, but parents should encourage their children to choose healthier options. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics offers these suggestions:
  • Keep plenty of fresh, colorful fruits and vegetables in plain sight, where kids can grab them easily.
  • Stock up on dried fruits (low-sugar options) and dried chickpeas, peas and soybeans.
  • Stock your pantry with applesauce, fruits and beans that can be mixed with salsa, and veggies.
  • Create home-made frozen fruit bars and smoothies.
